Firelight Harmony

Chicago's very own Fire Island. Candles and flame effect lamps cover the bank that heads down to the water and continue across the Lake to Horajima Island.

Artist Brian Thunder (Culture Creative Fire Producer) has been setting things alight professionally since 1991. Using fire, fireworks, theatre, music, and art, Brian is responsible for design and delivery of fire installations at sites worldwide.


Lighting Designers | Lee Fiskness and Travis Shupe have created several lighting treatments and new light installations for this year's trail.


Lighting Designer | Travis Shupe

Travis is a Freelance Lighting Director, Programmer and Production Electrician based in Chicago, IL.  He works at Schuler Shook as a Project Lighting Designer in Architecture Lighting Design.  Travis has worked on the lighting for large scale events, films, TV, and live broadcasts including The Oprah Winfrey Show.  From 2005-2018 Travis spent his summers at The Santa Fe Opera as the Production Electrician .  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Lighting Design from the University of Northern Colorado.


Lighting Designer | Lee Fiskness

Lee Fiskness is a freelance Lighting Designer based out of Chicago.  He primarily designs for live entertainment in the preforming arts; theatre, opera, music, exhibitions, museums, as well as broadcast television and studio design.   Lee was the Lighting Director at The Santa Fe Opera and was working with the company for 18 seasons.  Lee has taught at Columbia College and Northwestern University. He received a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Northwestern University. Lee is proud union member of USA (United Scenic Artist).
